What our customers say

The Gungate

I stayed one night having picked The Gungate at random on the internet. Excellent value for money. Nice clean well-appointed room, tea-and coffee in room, quiet room with shower & comfortable bed. 5 minute walk to several pubs and a couple of restaurants for an evening meal. The English breakfast is good and the owner (Sue) very welcoming & helpful. Can't find fault, highly recommended.

We enjoyed our stay.

Just spent a very comfortable night at The Gungate. Upgraded from single rooms to lovely, well furnished, doubles with brand new ensuites, at no extra cost. Excellent full English breakfast served in nice dining room with lovely period features. More than happy with everything, would recommend to anyone wishing to stay in Tamworth.

So impressed

“So impressed with the service provided at this hotel. Even my 5 year old son was happy when we returned from a meal and his bedding had been changed to Thomas the tank engine duvet set. Great end to our trip to Thomas land (Drayton manor)”
